Our Mission

Ms. Yan (Linda) Liu is passionate about education and has more than 30 years of experience as a school administrator and teaching Chinese to students from age 3 through high school. She has a degree in Chinese Linguistics & Literature and Early Childhood Education and holds a certificate from Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). In recent years, her students received rewards in Chinese speech competitions, drawing competitions, and so on. In 1999, she founded a private pre-school in Ezhou, Hubei, China.

​She immigrated to the United States in 2002 and taught Montessori Education. She witnessed firsthand the importance of bilingual education and the requirement of the times. After combining years of education experience, Ms. Linda brings the essence of Chinese and American education, focuses on the child's personality development, and the ability to explore independently. Her experience in both China and the United States culminated in the founding of Discovery Montessori Academy in Plano, TX, a north Dallas suburb, in 2014. In 2018, Discovery Montessori Academy expanded to Allen, TX and in 2023, expanded to a third campus in North Plano.

The schools' programs include:

• Allen Preschool: 6 weeks - Kindergarten 
• Plano Preschool and Lower Elementary: 6 weeks - 3rd grade  
• After School Program  (Allen and Plano): Kindergarten to 5th Grade
• Weekend Chinese School (Plano and/ or online): Pre-K to 10th Grade
  

The schools' mission is for social services, sharing parents’ goals, and building a first-class bilingual school! Her schools have been highly praised by parents and communities since their establishment.
